Debug a project for the first time

You must build your project first before you can debug it.

To create a launch configuration (for debugging):

  1. In the Project Explorer view, right-click a project and select Debug As > Debug Configurations... .
  2. In the Debug Configurations dialog, double-click BlackBerry Tablet OS C/C++ Application ( or click the The new launch configuration icon. icon ) to create a new launch configuration.
  3. In the Project field, ensure that your project is selected.
  4. In the Build configuration drop-down, select the build configuration for this launch configuration.
You can view the build configuration options for your project by right-clicking on your project and selecting Build Configurations > Set Active . The build configuration type determines how the binary file is packaged, and what type of target it will run on (device or simulator).
  5. Click Debug to start the debugger, or Apply to save the configuration.
Now that you've created the launch configuration, the configuration is listed in the Debug Configurations dialog. By default, the application is associated with this launch configuration. You can run or debug the selected application by clicking the run or debug icon.
