<entryPointType>

(Optional) The type of entry point that is required for your app.

Parent elements

<qnx>, <configuration>

Child elements

None

Description

The <entryPointType> element specifies the type of entry point that is required for your app (either Qnx/Cascades or Qnx/Elf). The <entryPointType> is also used to identify the two parts of a headless app in the bar-descriptor.xml file of the UI part of the headless app. This modification allows the UI and headless parts of an app to use separate entry points.

For more information, see Modify entry points.

A project that is created with a Core Native template uses the default <entryPointType> element:

<entryPointType>Qnx/Elf</entryPointType>

A project that is created with a Cascades template requires the following <entryPointType> element:

<entryPointType>Qnx/Cascades</entryPointType>

If the <entryPointType> element occurs as a child of the <configuration> element, it isn't required as a child of the <qnx> element. For example, the Cascades standard empty template includes the following as part of the default Device-Release configuration.

<configuration name="Device-Release">
	<entryPointType>Qnx/Cascades</entryPointType>
</configuration>

Content

A PCDATA value representing the type of entry point required for your app.

Attributes

None

Example

<configuration name="Device-Release">
	<entryPointType>Qnx/Cascades</entryPointType>
</configuration>
