You can access this element by using the blackberry.app.description property that is provided in the BlackBerry WebWorks API.

Optional. The its:dir attribute specifies the directionality of the language. For example, its:dir="rtl" specifies a language that is written from right to left. For more information about this attribute, visit www.w3.org.

You can use this attribute for localization.
