PhoneGap

PhoneGap is a free open-source framework you can use to create mobile apps for a variety of platforms, including BlackBerry devices. PhoneGap masks many of the inconsistencies between platforms so that developers can focus on their code.

The primary benefit of PhoneGap is that it simplifies development of app across multiple platforms. Using a PhoneGap project, you can maintain a single code base while providing platform-specific resources, and then build the same app for multiple platforms. The underlying Apache Cordova engine provides a set of standard APIs for all the supported platforms. Cordova handles the binding of your JavaScript to the native code as necessary for each of the supported platforms.
