Push Access Protocol
The Push Access Protocol (PAP) specifies how Push Initiators can send messages to push-enabled applications. The Push Initiator uses the protocol to send content and push-related control information to the PPG. The Push Service implements the Push Access Protocol, and with the BlackBerry Internet Service you can use a PAP interface to send content to devices.
Registering to use the Push Service
To use the Push Service with the BlackBerry Internet Service, you must register with BlackBerry. When registering to use the Push Service, you need to choose either the Push Essentials or Push Plus level of service. The level of service you choose determines which standard PAP elements you can use.
