Configure your development environment

Before you start developing your application, you should configure your development environment as well as set up your test devices.

The BlackBerry 10 SDK for Adobe AIR plugin for Adobe Flash Builder and Powerflasher FDT includes a deployment setup wizard to guide you through setting up your development environment to create applications and deploy them to a BlackBerry device. You can use the deployment setup wizard to do the following:

  • Connect to a BlackBerry Simulator to test and debug your application.
  • Connect to a BlackBerry device and install debug tokens to test and debug your application.
  • Create a BlackBerryID token and configure your computer to sign your applications before you deploy them.

If you are using another development environment, you must use the Command Line tools to configure your test environment and deploy your application to a test environment. To use the command line tools, check out Test applications using the command line.
