Connect to your device using a USB cable

You must have a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and a USB cable that comes with it.

When you connect to your device using Wi-Fi and a USB cable, your device will have two IP addresses, which is the expected behavior.
To connect to your device using a USB cable:
  1. On the home screen of the device, verify that the Development Mode is set, otherwise, enable Development Mode on your device.
  2. Connect your host computer to the device using the provided USB cable.
  3. On your host computer, you'll be prompted by the BlackBerry Device Manager installer to install the appropriate drivers on the device.
  4. If a prompt appears for you to enter the password on your device, enter the password.
  5. Start the QNX Momentics IDE on your computer.
  6. Select Window > Open Perspective > Other and in the Open Perspective dialog box, select QNX System Information and click OK.
  7. In the Target Navigator view, right-click the target representing your device and click Connect. Enter the password to your device when prompted.

Once you are connected, you will see an IP address when you click the Development Mode icon. The IP Address will start with 169.x.x.x.
