Create a BlackBerry Tablet OS target system project

A target is a tablet or Simulator that you want to interact with (including installing, launching, and debugging applications). You must create a Target System Project for every target you want to use with the IDE.
The preferred way to create a new target for BlackBerry Tablet OS is to use the BlackBerry Tablet OS Setup Deployment Wizard, either when you create a project (see Create a BlackBerry Tablet OS project ) or via the Signing preferences page (see Signing page ); otherwise, do the following:
  1. From the File menu, select New > Project... .
  2. In the New Project dialog, expand BlackBerry Tablet OS and then select BlackBerry Tablet OS Target.
    Screen showing the New Project window.
  3. Click Next.
    Screen showing the New BlackBerry Tablet OS Target window.
  4. In the Target Name area, you can either use the same name as your host, or you can specify a new name for your target.
    Although the wizard allows it, don't use any of the following characters in your target name as they may cause problems later:

    | ! $ ( " ) & ` : ; \ ' * ? [ ] # ~ = % < > { }

  5. In the Connection area, specify the name of your host, or the IP address you want to use for the connection.
  6. Click Finish. Your new BlackBerry Tablet OS Target System Project appears in the Project Explorer view. When you create a launch configuration, the target is listed under the Main tab in the Target Options pane. Note that you can use the Add New Target button in the Target Options pane to open the New BlackBerry Tablet OS Target wizard.
    You can also reach the New BlackBerry Tablet OS Target wizard from within the Target Navigator view (right-click, then select Add New Target).
