Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology that allows data exchange between devices. Bluetooth is widely used in computers, smartphones, in-vehicle systems, and a large range of other electronic devices. The Bluetooth standard is managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).

The BlackBerry 10 OS supports Bluetooth 4.0, which includes classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth low energy (LE). To access the Bluetooth classic capabilities on your BlackBerry 10 smartphone, you can use either the Bluetooth C API or the QtConnectivity API. To access the Bluetooth LE capabilities, you must use the Bluetooth C API.
