Set a target device

Make sure that you build your application using the solution platform (either BlackBerry or BlackBerrySimulator) that corresponds to the target device you set here.

If you are using a target device other than the simulator, make sure that your device is connected to the host computer through either Wi-Fi or a USB connection.

  1. In Microsoft Visual Studio, on the BlackBerry menu, select Settings.
  2. If you are using a physical device, under BlackBerry Device Target, in the IP Address field, type the IP address for the BlackBerry device attached to your computer.
  3. If you are using a simulator, under BlackBerry Simulator Target, in the IP Address field, type the IP address for the simulator.
  4. Enter the password for your BlackBerry device or simulator.
  5. Click OK.
